Children’s Day is a good reminder to us adults, of the innocence and curiosity that we used to had when we were little. The innocence that allowed us to embrace all things that we encounter with novelty and without judgement. The curiosity that enabled us to open our minds to possibilities and imagination.
These are the qualities that we need to bring with us when we look at paintings. To look at paintings without judgment and with curiosity, so that we can abandon our preconceived ideas and prejudices that are limiting us, to be free to absorb a different experience.
Bring out the child in you, the next time you visit an exhibtion, and enjoy a refreshing look at paintings.
How to appreciate paintings? Bring out the child in you, when you look at paintings.
